This phase of the Uyyakondan Revitalization Programme was conceived as a four day long workshop with prof.PVK.Rameshwar,Academician and Founder of Shilanyas,an eminent Urban Design practice in Ahmedabad and his team comprising of Ar.Sreekumar ,Mumbai,Ar.Sohomdeep ,Kolkata,Ar.Prof.Ramalingam,Ar.Godwin and Ar.Ranjitha. students,practitioners,urban designers,research scholars,NGOs ,CBOs and government agencies already involved with canal participated in this workshop in varying capacities to look at wholistic and sustainable solution.This workshop looked at possible strategies and policies both at city level and at the neighbourhood scale of the historic canal for its revitalization and in the process reclaiming it as a public space ,a water edge for the citizens of Trichy.The interventions proposed were analysed from environmental,ecological and sociological points of view with experts from the concerned fields participating and offering inputs to the participants making it a truly multidisciplinary approach .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
