Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully organised 16th online technical webinar on the topic of “Castings and Forgings for Aerospace- Challenges and HAL`s contributions”. A total of 90 participants benefited from this webinar. The Resource Person Shri. M.S. Venkatesh, Executive Director, Foundry & Forge Division, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bangalore – 560 017, explained the fundamental and aerospace applications of various casting and forging processes. In addition, some of the innovative technologies, which are currently used in HAL were explained by the resource person with the help of animations. Also, the new technologies such as Digital sand printing technology, Single crystal casting, 3D printing, and some of the additive manufacturing techniques have been described by the resource person.
