The Department of Design at CARE College of Engineering conducted a hands-on Ceramic Design Workshop on 10 April 2026 for first-year B.Des students. The session was led by an industry expert from the ceramic design field, offering students practical exposure to material-based design and form exploration.
During the workshop, students actively engaged in clay modeling exercises, focusing on the development of geometric and organic forms. Under expert guidance, they learned fundamental techniques of shaping, structuring, and refining clay to translate design ideas into physical models.
The workshop emphasized experiential learning and helped students understand the relationship between form, material, and design intent. It also strengthened their foundational skills in tactile design processes, which are essential for product and industrial design disciplines.
This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to bridging academic learning with industry practice, enhancing the overall design education experience for aspiring designers.
