CARE School of Design organized a Visual Arts Workshop led by Harikrishnan, a practicing artist from Chennai, providing students with valuable exposure to the fundamentals of drawing, sketching, observation, and visual representation. The workshop focused on perspective drawing, portrait drawing, object drawing, proportion, composition, shading, and rendering techniques that form the foundation of design education. Students learned how drawing serves as an essential tool for communicating ideas, developing concepts, and expressing creativity across various design disciplines.
Through a series of practical exercises, students enhanced their observation skills, hand sketching techniques, visual thinking abilities, and creative confidence. The workshop emphasized the importance of freehand drawing, design sketching, perspective visualization, and form exploration in understanding shapes, spaces, objects, and human features. These skills play a significant role in concept development, ideation, visual communication, and portfolio creation for aspiring designers.
As part of the hands-on learning approach at CARE School of Design, the workshop helped students strengthen their artistic foundation while developing creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Such practical learning experiences prepare students for careers in Product Design, UI/UX Design, Interior Design, Animation, Digital Art, and other creative fields by building strong visualisation and design-thinking capabilities that are highly valued in the design industry.
