The Leadup to Startup – an intercollegiate virtual entrepreneurial event was organized by CARE Business School on 25th June 2021 (Friday). This event was very much appreciated by the aspiring entrepreneurs and student community across Tamilnadu; there were 90 participants from various institutions. The competition was designed in such a way that it tests the entrepreneurial skills of the participants. The event elicited enthusiastic participants from various institutions, colleges, and universities from Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Chennai, Nagercoil, Salem districts. It was a one full day event form 09:30am to 06:30pm.
The event started with the felicitation address by Mr. Prative Chend, CEO, CARE Group of Institutions. His speech was thought provoking and the students enthusiastically interacted to the questions posed by him. He started with the question, “If you are an employee of a company, can you be an entrepreneur or can you start up a new business within the company?” And many students exuberantly answered him. Finally, he stated that entrepreneurship is a mindset and could be encouraged even while working in an organization. He also highlighted the importance of Intrapreneurship. He made the participants to think and understand the difference between Startup and Entrepreneurship.
All the competitions namely Chasing Perfection (Business Connections), Unscripted (Marketing Strategy), Sustain X (Problem-Solving by Situational Analysis), and Idea Pitching (Business plan presentation) were well organized and the participants competed with zeal.

Runner – Ms. Ramya of St. Joseph Institute of Management, Trichy
Idea Pitching:
Winner – Mr. Abhisek and Team of SASTRA University
Runner – Mr. Padmesh Chari and team of SRMIST, Chennai
The Valedictory address was given by Mr. R.Venkatesh, Head, CARE Business School. He appreciated the efforts of all the members of the organizing committee and the coordinators for exhibiting professionalism in organizing such a one of a kind virtual entrepreneurial event. Dr. D Suguamar, Principal, CARE College of Arts and Science also graced the occasion and motivated the students.
In short, this event became a platform to build a network with like-minded people and to explore their entrepreneurial skills. This event could be benchmarked as a standard for professionally organizing a virtual event.
