Break-even analysis helps to determine the level of sales needed to cover costs and is crucial for making informed decisions about pricing, production levels, and cost control.
The main objective of this session was to impart knowledge about,
- The fundamental concept of break-even analysis, including the calculation of break-even points, and its relevance in business decision-making.
- The relationship between fixed and variable costs, contribution margin, and their impact on break-even points and profitability.
- the concept of sensitivity analysis in break-even calculations, helping students understand how changes in costs, prices, and sales volumes affect profitability.
Students will be able to apply break-even analysis to real-world business decisions, including pricing strategies, product launches, and cost control, making them more effective in managerial roles.
