A hands-on session on building a strong professional presence.
The Department of Master of Administration, CARE Business School, organised a Guest Lecture Program on 28th August 2026 at the MBA Ground Floor Classroom. Specifically, the session focused on Leveraging LinkedIn for MBA Career Success and was conducted by Mr. Derrick Alex.
First, the lecture covered profile optimization. Students learned how to build a compelling headline and an effective “About” summary. In addition, they explored using industry-specific keywords for MBA roles. They also learned how to showcase leadership skills and choose the right profile and background images.
Next, the discussion moved to networking strategies. For instance, students explored how to identify and connect with industry leaders and alumni. Moreover, Mr. Alex shared tips on personalising connection requests. He also explained how to use LinkedIn Groups for deeper engagement. As a result, students understood how strong connections can open doors to job and internship opportunities.
Finally, the session focused on content and thought leadership. Students learned how to create posts that show professional insight. They also learned to publish articles on industry trends. Furthermore, they explored how to engage authentically with others’ content. The session ended with tips on measuring and refining LinkedIn profile reach.
Overall, this guest lecture gave MBA students practical tools to build a strong personal brand on LinkedIn. This remains a valuable skill in today’s competitive job market.
