The Department of Visual Communication, CARE College of Arts & Science, in association with CARE Talkies Film Club, organised a Movie Screening and Discussion programme featuring the Tamil film “Kaantha” on 21st January 2026 at 2.00 p.m. in ‘C’ Studio. The film, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj and with a duration of 2 hours and 43 minutes, was screened as part of an academic and creative initiative to enhance students’ understanding of cinematic language, visual storytelling, and contemporary filmmaking practices.

The event aimed to provide an immersive learning experience by exposing students to narrative structure, character development, cinematography, and directorial style, followed by an interactive discussion session that encouraged critical thinking, visual literacy, and creative dialogue among participants.

The programme witnessed active participation from students of Visual Communication and members of CARE Talkies Film Club, who engaged enthusiastically in analysing the film’s thematic depth and technical aspects. The event successfully created a platform for meaningful discussion and appreciation of cinema as an art form, contributing to the holistic development of students and strengthening their interest in filmmaking and media studies.
