The Department of Visual Communication organized a field visit titled Sound Saga on 28th July 2025 at All India Radio – 102.1 FM, Trichy. This experiential learning visit aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to radio broadcasting, sound engineering, and the operational aspects of an FM station.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore the functioning of various departments including programming, editing, and live transmission. The technical team at AIR explained the nuances of radio production, the use of analog and digital equipment, and the importance of voice modulation and sound clarity in radio communication.
The visit was highly interactive, as students engaged in discussions with radio professionals, witnessed live on-air sessions, and gained insights into content creation, scriptwriting, and the ethics of public broadcasting.
This initiative enhanced the students’ understanding of audio media and broadcasting techniques, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice.
