The Department of Tamil organised Mannum Marabum – Tamilar Panbattu Thiruvizha on 12th and 13th September 2025 at 9.30 a.m. The two-day cultural festival celebrated the richness of Tamil heritage, tradition, and values. Day 1: The event featured a special lecture on The Importance and Necessity of Traditional Food delivered by Mr. Dinesh Mani, Founder & CEO of Dhaanyas Natural Products. In his address, he highlighted the health benefits, cultural significance, and sustainability aspects of consuming traditional food, encouraging students to embrace native food practices for a healthier lifestyle. The event was presided over by Dr. D. Sugumar, Principal.
The festival highlighted Tamil culture through traditional food stalls, sports, and music performances, reflecting the richness and vibrancy of Tamil identity. Students’ enthusiastic participation made the event both educational and inspiring, fostering pride in preserving Tamil traditions and heritage.
On the second day of the Mannum Marabum – Tamilar Panbatu Thiruvizha, held on 13th September 2025 at 9.30 a.m., a special program on Isai Karuvigal Vasipum Vilakamum was organized at CARE College of Arts & Science. The session was conducted by Dr. K. Sathish Kumar, Department of Language, along with the talented students of Kalai Kaveri Fine Arts, Trichy.
The event showcased the beauty of traditional musical instruments and their cultural significance through live demonstrations and interpretative performances. The program enriched the audience with deeper insights into the art of music, while also highlighting the heritage and essence of Tamil traditions.
The Mannum Marabum event was meticulously organized under the dedicated efforts of Mr. P. Ravikumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, Mr. R. Vinothkumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Mr. M. Radhakrishnan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (CA), Mrs. K. Sumathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, and Mrs. Caroline Josephin, Assistant Professor, Department of BBA. The event was successfully coordinated along with the Tamil Department team under the guidance of Mr. K. Senthil, Head of the Department of Tamil, and Mr. P. Nagaraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil. Their seamless planning and commitment ensured the smooth conduct and grand success of the program.
