The Department of Visual Communication successfully conducted a hands-on workshop on Basics of Photography in association with Canon and Universal Shoppe on 12th July 2025 at 10:00 AM in the C Studio.
The workshop was aimed at introducing students to the fundamental concepts of photography, including camera operations, composition techniques, lighting, and framing. The session was facilitated by two eminent professionals from Canon: Mr. K. Karthikeyan, Canon Trainer and Mr. D. Manikandan, Canon Promoter
The resource persons provided a detailed overview of DSLR camera functions, shared insights on creative shooting techniques, and engaged students with live demonstrations. Their guidance helped participants gain clarity on both technical and aesthetic aspects of photography.
The event was presided over by Dr. D. Sugumar, Principal, who appreciated the department’s initiative in bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practice. He emphasized the importance of such workshops in nurturing creativity and technical competence among students. The session was highly interactive, informative, and inspiring, equipping students with essential skills and motivating them to explore photography with greater passion and professionalism.
