Guest Lecture on Life of a Journalist: From Reporting to Editing

The Department of Visual Communication organised an engaging session on Life of a Journalist: From Reporting to Editing on 8th August 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the C Studio. The resource person, Mr. R. Aravindharaj, Reporter, Script Writer, VJ, and Video Producer at Puthiyathalaimurai Channel, shared his professional journey and offered valuable insights into the dynamic world of journalism.

Through real-life experiences and industry examples, he discussed the various stages of news production—from gathering and verifying information to scripting, presenting, and editing. The session provided students with a deeper understanding of the skills, challenges, and ethics involved in the profession.

The programme was presided over by Dr. D. Sugumar, Principal, who highlighted the importance of such industry-oriented interactions in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world media practices. The session proved to be highly informative and inspiring for aspiring media professionals.
