The School of Commerce, Department of Commerce, organised a Guest Lecture on Evolution of Company Governance in India on 12th August 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the III BBA classroom. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the historical development, legal framework, and present-day practices in corporate governance.
The Chief Guest, Mr. K. Rajendran, Lawyer (Cyber Law and Civil Law), Namakkal District Court, delivered an engaging and insightful lecture, highlighting key milestones in the evolution of company governance in India. He elaborated on the role of legislation, corporate ethics, and judicial interventions in shaping today’s governance standards. The session also shed light on the integration of technology and cyber law in modern corporate practices.
The event was coordinated by Dr. R. Dhivya Prakash, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. Dr. D. Sugumar, Principal, presided over the program, and Dr. B. Abdul Suban, Head, Department of Commerce, facilitated the function.
The lecture proved to be highly informative, bridging academic concepts with real-world legal and corporate scenarios, thereby enriching students’ professional outlook.
