The School of Commerce, Department of Commerce (CA), CARE College of Arts & Science, organised SmartExcel 2026 – Workshop on AI-Powered Analytics & Automation on 20 August 2026 at 9.30am at the Arts Seminar Hall. The workshop was designed to equip students with practical knowledge of advanced Excel tools, artificial intelligence integration, smart automation, and data-driven decision-making.
The programme was presided over by Dr. D. Sugumar, Principal, and Dr. K. Alex, Dean (Academics). Dr. B. Abdul Suban, Head & Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (CA), felicitated the programme. Mr. Radhakrishnan Mathivanan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (CA), served as the Programme Coordinator.
The session was handled by Mr. Derrick Alex J, AGM Operations & Head, V Dart Academy, who provided valuable insights into the emerging role of AI and automation in Excel-based analytics. The workshop focused on Advanced Analytics, AI Integration in Excel, Smart Automation & Productivity, and Data Insights & Decision Making, enabling participants to understand how modern digital tools can improve efficiency and productivity in professional environments.
The workshop provided students with an opportunity to enhance their technical competencies and understand the practical applications of AI-powered Excel tools in commerce, business analytics, and workplace automation. The programme concluded with an emphasis on the importance of learning smart, working smart, and making informed decisions through data.
