Workshop on Acting Immersion

The Department of Visual Communication successfully organized a three-day Acting Immersion workshop from 18th to 20th February 2025 at 10 AM in C Studio. The workshop aimed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of acting techniques, character portrayal, and stage performance.

The event was presided over by Dr. D. Sugumar, Principal, and the sessions were conducted by Mr. Vignesh Jeyakumar, a distinguished Theatre Trainer & Performer from Theatre Lab Actors Work Station, Chennai. His expertise in theatre arts helped students explore the nuances of acting through engaging activities, including voice modulation, facial expressions, body language, emotional depth, and improvisation.

Throughout the three days, participants engaged in interactive exercises, role-playing, and theatrical performances, allowing them to step into different characters and refine their expressive skills. Mr. Vignesh Jeyakumar emphasized the importance of self-awareness, spontaneity, and controlled emotions in acting, making the sessions both informative and engaging.

Students found the workshop highly transformative and inspiring, as it encouraged them to step out of their comfort zones and embrace acting as an expressive art form. The hands-on training provided them with practical exposure to real-world performance scenarios, preparing them for future endeavors in theatre and media industries.

The workshop concluded on a high note, with students showcasing their newly acquired skills in a short performance, receiving valuable feedback from the trainer.
