Guest Lecture on AI in Everyday Computing: Transforming Information Technology and Business

The Department of Commerce (CA), organized a Guest lecture on AI in Everyday Computing: Transforming Information Technology and Business on 10th July 2026 at 11.50am in the Arts Summit Hall. The session aimed to introduce students to the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence in modern computing, business operations, and everyday life while highlighting the emerging career opportunities in AI-driven industries.

The session was delivered by Mr. S. A. Syed Khaja, Technical Engineer, Big Learn, Trichy, who provided valuable insights into the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence across various sectors. He explained how AI is revolutionizing business processes, enhancing decision-making, improving productivity, and shaping the future of technology. Through real-world examples and interactive discussions, students gained a deeper understanding of AI tools, automation, and the ethical considerations associated with emerging technologies.

The programme was presided over by Dr. D. Sugumar, Principal, who encouraged students to embrace technological advancements and continuously upgrade their skills to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving digital era. The event was coordinated by Dr. B. Abdul Suban, Head & Assistant Professor, School of Commerce.
