CARE College of Arts & Science, Tiruchirappalli, organised a series of impactful Anti-Drug Awareness initiatives from 12 August 2026 to 18 August 2026, in accordance with the Anti-Drug Awareness initiative of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The programmes aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to lead healthy, responsible and drug-free lives.
The programmes were presided over by Dr. D. Sugumar, Principal, CARE College of Arts & Science, and felicitated by Dr. K. Alex, Dean Academics. The initiatives successfully enhanced awareness among the students and reinforced the importance of collective responsibility in preventing drug abuse and promoting a healthy and purposeful lifestyle.
As part of the initiative, the College conducted the live telecast of the Drug-Free Tamil Nadu event chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Poster Creation Competition, Anti-Drug Awareness Mime, Drawing Competition on Drug-Free Tamil Nadu, Campus Rally and Human Chain. Each programme provided students and faculty members with an opportunity to express their commitment towards building a drug-free society through creative expression, awareness activities and active participation.
The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who joined together to spread the message “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life.” The Campus Rally and Human Chain further strengthened the collective commitment of the CARE community towards creating a safe, healthy and drug-free environment.
