South India Trip

The First-year Architecture students took a week’s voyage into the Vijayanagara & Chalukya Kingdoms and were accompanied by the faculty. They visited Hampi, Badami, Aihole, Pattadakkal, and Mysore, in around 9 days of travel.
Two Kingdoms separated by half a millennia played a pivotal role in shaping the history of South India. This trip was part of the Design studio, besides, understanding of temple art in India, architecture, and history, remained a parallel focus. Most of the sites covered are protected UNESCO world heritage sites.
