Guest Lecture on “Block Chain Application beyond CYPTO Currencies”

The department of ECE organized a Guest lecture on “Block Chain Application beyond CYPTO Currencies” on 17.02.2023 @ 3.30 PM, and it was coordinated by Dr. J. Jeyarani, Professor and Head of ECE. Mrs. Vanitha. R, AP/ECE gave the welcome address and introduced the guest Ms. M.Shiva Shankari, AP/ECE

The guest lecture was planned to provide knowledge towards the Block chain. This was scheduled to impart knowledge on content beyond the syllabus which will support self-learning and motivate for life-long learning for the student participants.

Resource Person explained Blockchain (BC), the technology behind the Bitcoin crypto-currency system, which is considered to be both alluring and critical for ensuring enhanced security and (in some implementations, non- traceable) privacy for diverse applications in many other domains including in the Internet of Things (IoT) eco-system. He mentioned that Intensive research is currently being conducted in both academia and industry applying Blockchain technology in multifarious applications. Furthermore, he insisted blockchain uses a changeable Public Key (PK) to record the users identity, which provides an extra layer of privacy and Not only in cryptocurrency has the successful adoption of BC been implemented also in multifaceted non-monetary systems such as in: distributed storage systems, proof-of-location, healthcare, decentralized voting and so forth. He shared some of the Recent research articles and projects/applications to identify associated challenges, and proposed solutions for BC-enabled challenges and to proposed solutions for BC-enabled enhanced security systems. students learned about the practical aspects of crypto Currencies after attending this session on Block chain.
