Guest Lecture on Structured Query Language (SQL) in Database Design Management

On 14th December, 2023, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at CARE College of Engineering hosted a Guest Lecture for the subject Database Design Management (DDM). The focus of the lecture was on Structured Query Language (SQL), a crucial component in the realm of database management.

The distinguished speaker for the event was Dr. N. Saravana Raman, an accomplished professional with a wealth of experience. Currently serving as the Associate Professor and Department Head of Computer Science and Engineering at Shree Angalamman College of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Raman has also held a Senior Manager position at IBM Technologies in the United States.

The lecture, spanning from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, targeted second-year students of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Dr. Raman delved into various aspects of Oracle, Big Data Analysis, Database Management System (DBMS), and the focal point of the day – Structured Query Language (SQL). His extensive industry experience added practical insights to the theoretical concepts discussed.

Dr. Raman went the extra mile by sharing valuable interview tips with the students, preparing them for the challenges of the professional world. This holistic approach contributed to the enrichment of the students’ overall learning experience.

The lecture included an engaging question-and-answer session, allowing students to clarify doubts and seek further insights from Dr. Raman. This interactive segment added a practical dimension to the theoretical knowledge shared during the lecture.
