On April 4th, 2024, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CARE College of Engineering hosted a dynamic one-day workshop titled “Automated Testing Strategy.” This workshop aimed to equip third-year students with practical insights into Software Testing and Automation, using Selenium and TestNG frameworks. It was a collaborative effort by both Greensoft Groups, Trichy, and Pyroferus Technologies, Chennai, renowned companies specializing in Software Automation Testing.
The workshop commenced with an enlightening introduction by Mr.Somasundar, Vice President, shedding light on the significance of Software Testing Automation, along with elucidating various job roles and burgeoning opportunities within the software testing domain.
Following the introduction, Mr.Allwin Felix K, Associate QA Engineer from Pyroferus Technologies, delved into the technical session. He meticulously explored the Software Testing Life Cycle and its integral phases, offering hands-on training in Software Automation Testing using Selenium and TestNG frameworks.
Further enriching the session, K Bharathithasan, VP – Operations and Database Consultancy at Pyroferus Technologies, elucidated Database concepts. He adeptly guided the students on aligning themselves with industry requirements, imparting invaluable insights into industry demands.
Throughout the workshop, the sessions were highly engaging and interactive, fostering an environment conducive to learning and collaboration. Students actively participated, creating sets of test cases independently for sample scenarios. Additionally, they gained practical experience by doing a simple login page automation test using Selenium.
Overall, the One-Day Workshop on Automated Testing Strategy proved to be a resounding success, underscoring CARE College of Engineering’s commitment to providing practical and industry-relevant education to its students. Through collaborations with leading industry experts, such workshops play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academia and industry, empowering students with the requisite skills and knowledge for success in their careers.
