On 06/12/2024, 45 students from I year Civil and Mechanical Engineering went on an Industrial visit to GEECO Factory,in the city of Thanjavur. Three faculty members accompanied them on the college bus. They all had a wonderful opportunity to witness the world-class manufacturing facility for Air Preheaters (APH) & Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) at GEECO.
It is built on a sprawling 20-acre land facility with a covered area of 1,84,500 Square Feet, providing ample space for all the operations. The departments in the facility namely Planning, Production, Quality, Stores, and Shipping, allow to maintain complete control over the entire manufacturing process. The production capacity is an impressive 1600 Metric Tonnes (MT) per month, enabling the ever-growing demands of the clients. One of the highlights of the factory is the ability to manufacture four large size Rotary Air Preheaters (APH Size 36) simultaneously. The industrial visit was beneficial for the students.
