The Department of Mechanical Engineering, CARE College of Engineering, organized a Five Days Value Added Course on “Certificate on Solid Works Associate (CSWA)” from 05.01.2026 to 09.01.2026 at the CAD/CAM Laboratory. The program was conducted for II, III, and IV year Mechanical Engineering students and was handled by the resource person Mr. N. A. Anabayasolan, Application Engineer, SIM Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. On the first day, the trainer introduced the basics of Solid Works, including design fundamentals and standard engineering symbols. The second day focused on sketching techniques, where students practiced creating sketches and modeling parts based on given diagrams. On the third day, students were trained in assembly modeling, enabling them to assemble individual components into complete mechanical assemblies using Solid Works tools.
On the fourth day, students were given intensive training for CSWA examination preparation, including practice problems and model-based questions to enhance their confidence. The fifth day was dedicated to the CSWA examination, which was successfully completed by all participating students, and certificates were awarded. The valedictory function was held in the presence of Dr. K. Kannan, Dean of Academics, CARE College of Engineering, who delivered a special address highlighting the importance of CAD skills in the engineering profession. The welcome address was given by Dr. D. R. Rajkumar, Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. A. Antony Luki, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The program concluded with students receiving their certificates and expressing positive feedback about the training.
