PO’s (The Programme Outcomes):
Graduates of our Civil Engineering Programme can:
- Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and Civil Engineering principles to the solution of complex Civil Engineering problems.
- Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyse complex Civil Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics and engineering sciences.
- Design solutions for complex Civil Engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions related to Civil Engineering problems.
- Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools such as CAD, Structural Analysis and Design software, FEM, etc including prediction and modelling to complex Civil Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
- Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional Civil Engineering practice.
- Understand the impact of the professional Civil Engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
- Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the Civil Engineering practice.

PROGRAMME: M.E., CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT
PEO’s (Programme Educational Objectives):
- To prepare students to excel in research or to succeed in Construction Engineering and Management profession through global, rigorous post graduate education.
- To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and construction engineering fundamentals required to solve Construction Engineering and Management problems
- To train students with efficient and effective construction knowledge in project formulation, planning, scheduling techniques, quantitative methods, costing, quality control and assurance techniques for the existing and new construction projects.
- To inculcate students in professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, teamwork skills, leadership quality, safety management, energy management in construction, multidisciplinary approach, and an ability to relate Construction Engineering and Management issues in broader social context.
- To provide student with an academic environment aware of excellence, leadership, written ethical codes and guidelines, and the lifelong learning needed for a successful professional career
