Our Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CARE College of Engineering organized a one-day workshop titled “AIML with OpenCV” on 15th October 2024. Mr. D.Paneer Selvam, Chief Engineer and Mr.M. Gnana Sekar, Sr. Business Development Executive from FFUTUREWISE Technologies were the resource persons for this workshop with hands on training. They provided expert guidance and hands-on training throughout the event.
The first session focused on introducing key concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, along with an overview of OpenCV, which is an emerging technology in computer vision. This theoretical foundation laid the groundwork for the second session of practical learning.
In the second session, students engaged in hands-on training using Python and OpenCV. They explored real-time video processing and face detection using the HAAR Cascade algorithm. The students were also introduced to the essential Python libraries associated with OpenCV and computer vision.
This workshop offered students a chance to learn a topic beyond their regular syllabus, sparking great interest due to its real-world application in face detection. By the end of the session, students had successfully completed a basic face detection program using the HAAR Cascade algorithm. Their enthusiasm and hands-on involvement made the workshop a resounding success.
