The National Service Scheme (NSS) Day was celebrated on September 24, 2024, by the NSS volunteers under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer R. Saravanan AP/EEE. The celebrations aimed to inspire first,second year NSS volunteers and highlight the core values of NSS through various engaging activities.
The event was honored by the presence of Principal Dr. S. Shanthi and Dean of Academics Dr. K. Kannan. Their insights significantly enriched the occasion. Principal Dr. S. Shanthi emphasized the purpose of serving through community service and the importance of connecting with and aiding those in need. Her speech reinforced the idea that NSS serves as a platform for students to make a tangible difference in society.
Dean of Academics Dr. K. Kannan articulated the fundamental objectives of NSS, stressing the importance of social service and encouraging students to actively participate in NSS activities. He highlighted the vital role of student contributions in fostering community welfare.
The event culminated with the Cleanliness pledge, where all volunteers reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of NSS. The celebration commenced with the traditional Tamil Thai Vazhthu, creating a culturally rich atmosphere, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among the participants.
The celebration featured several events where second-year NSS volunteers shared their experiences, emphasizing the significance of community service. They discussed the motto ,objectives and values of NSS, highlighting its role in fostering social responsibility among students. A key segment focused on the future action plans AY 24-25 of NSS, outlining upcoming initiatives and opportunities for volunteers to engage in meaningful service. And the event concluded with the National Anthem.
The NSS Day celebration was a significant step in motivating students to engage in social service and uphold the values of NSS(Theme:Youth For My Bharat). The event successfully bridged the gap between nss volunteers, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and commitment to community service.
