The school is apart of a conglomerate,CCF,with Avani Institute of Design,Calicut,School Of Environment and Architecture,Mumbai, Wadiyar Centre for Architecture,Mysore,as other constituent members.This conglomerate was formed with an intent to establish potent learning networks amongst schools offering Architectural education and to share expertise and Resources for enhanced learning. As an Initial step towards this collaboration a two week long studio programme on the underlying theme of “Care and Connectedness” is on between the 4th and 16th of February amongst the four schools. We at CARE are working on on probing the ontological question of what is learning and what is an ideal learning environments. In the context of Trichy,A place that is littered with temple settlements of varying scales and many with inherent craft traditions, where on a daily basis learning happens intutively by just dwelling or being as against structured formal schooling that one often associates with learning.
Our lab for the exploration is Srirangam ,where there is no dearth for such learning environments. The process is based on understanding the various ways in which humans engage with space
