On 12th December 2024, the CARE NDLI Club, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Humanities, organized a “தமிழர் மரபு – Quiz Competition” from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the Central Library. The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 178 students.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. L. Jamuna Rani, Librarian at CARE College of Engineering, Trichy, who shared her insights with the students. She then explained the event rules and engaged in an interactive session on Reading Skills with the participants. To ensure fair play, the students were divided into eight teams, each comprising seven members. The teams were named after Tamil literary and cultural references: Team – குறிஞ்சி, முல்லை, மருதம், நெய்தல், பாலை, நீர், நிலம், and காற்று.The quiz focused on various aspects of Tamil culture, including heritage, music, instruments, games, the kings of Chola, Pallava, and Pandya dynasties, festivals, and prominent Tamil literary works such as Silapathigaram, Manimegalai, and the great leaders periyar, vanjinathan .
