Guest lecture titled “Cloud Computing tools” for the course Distributed Computing was arranged and conducted for 3rd year CSE students. The session was conducted online via Google Meet on November 7, 2024, at 9:00 AM, with Mrs. S. Jayalakshmi, Assistant Professor from Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, Chennai, serving as the resource person.
The primary goal of the guest lecture was to provide students with an in-depth understanding of cloud computing tools. Mrs. S. Jayalakshmi covered key topics, including the definition and characteristics of cloud computing, various cloud deployment and service models, virtualization, load balancing, replication, monitoring, and prominent cloud platforms. The session also featured live demonstrations of Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and virtual cloud environments.
A total of 98 CSE students attended the session, actively engaging with the resource person by asking questions and clarifying doubts. The inclusion of live practical demonstrations made the lecture both informative and engaging for the students, who found it highly beneficial.
