Industrial Visit(Exposure and Field Visit for Problem Identification) on TREAT CLUSTER, Trichy

An industrial visit was organized for second and third-year Mechanical Engineering students of CARE College of Engineering on January 25, 2025, to TREAT CLUSTER, Trichy. The visit included nine faculty members and 40 students, providing them with an opportunity to gain practical insights into industrial processes. TREAT CLUSTER specializes in converting raw individual parts into assembled components, followed by welding and colouring processes. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications in the field of fabrication and manufacturing.

During the visit, students explored various advanced machinery and fabrication techniques. The key machines and processes demonstrated included a Stress Relief Furnace for better finishing, a Horizontal Machine for Cutting, Hydraulic Flanging Machine, Submersive Arc Welding and MIG Welding, Sand Blasting, a Horizontal Boring Machine, a Sheet Rolling Machine, and a Large Spray Painting Unit. These industrial operations helped students understand industry aspects of machining, welding, and surface finishing, enhancing and connecting their theoretical  knowledge and skills with the subject studied in the 3rd sem called ME3393 MANUFACTURING PROCESSES.

The session was guided by two fabrication engineers, Mr. R. Dinesh/B.E Mechanical  and Mr. R. Sugunthan/B.E Mechanical , who provided detailed explanations of the processes and engaged students with hands-on insights. The event was arranged by Dr. D. R. Rajkumar, HoD of Mechanical Engineering and coordinated by Mr.A.Antony Luki/AP/IIPC Coordinator ensuring an enriching learning experience. This visit strengthened students’ understanding of industrial fabrication techniques and provided valuable exposure to real-world engineering applications.
