The Department of Mechanical Engineering at CARE College of Engineering organized a one-day workshop on “CNC Part Programming” (Code to Product) on 13th March 2025 at the CAD/CAM Lab. The event was coordinated by Mr. A. Antony Luki, Assistant Professor, and 63 students participated from 8 Institutions across Tamil Nadu such as Pavai Engineering college, Namakkal , Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Engineering College, Perambalur etc., The Hands on workshop commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. S. Shanthi, Principal, CARE College of Engineering, followed by CNC Part Program led by Dr. D. R. Rajkumar, Professor and HoD of Mechanical Engineering, who served as the Resource person and Convener for the event.
Participants gained hands-on experience in CNC part programming using EdgeCAM software ( NC Editor & NC Verify), exploring key machining operations such as Facing, Plain Turning, Step Turning, Taper Turning, Grooving, Milling, and Drilling. The workshop effectively connected theoretical concepts with practical application, enhancing students’ proficiency in CNC programming. The event concluded with participant feedback, followed by a certificate distribution ceremony presided over by Dr. A. Pasumpon Pandian, Dean (R&D), CARE CoE. The workshop ends by 4:45 pm.
