Industry Institution Connect – DBMS

The IV semester course “CS3492 – Database management systems” was identified as one of Industry supported course in DAC meeting. As a continuation of it, one of the software development company “Pyroferus Technologies, Chennai” was identified to guide the students in DBMS course. The training session was planned and scheduled from 18/03/2025 to 21/03/2025 (9.00 AM to 5.00 PM).

Mr. K.Inbazhagan, Sr. Software Engineer, Mr.K. Jeeva, Software Developer, Mr. A. Premnivaas, Software Developper from Pyroferus Technologies were the resource persons for this hands on training session. They provided expert guidance and hands-on training throughout the event.
First two days were allotted to train II year ‘A’ section students and next 2 days were allotted to II CSE ‘B Section. Topics under 1st unit and 5th unit were handled by Industry expert people. Lab exercises under DBMS
were also practiced. During those session following areas were covered by resource persons.

Areas Covered during session
1. NoSQL Databases: Introduction – Document Based systems – Key value Stores – Column Based Systems
– Graph Databases.
2. Database Security: Security issues – Access control based on privileges – Role Based access control – SQL
Injection
3. Simple Application Development with Database Connectivity

Software Used :
MongoDB, SQL Workbench, MySQL & Java using Eclipse

All sessions were conducted in a hands-on training format, allowing students to execute commands in real time and observe outputs. They actively participated by asking questions and resolving doubts. Through this training, students gained valuable practical experience in designing and implementing DBMS for real- time applications. They also explored various SQL tools relevant to database management.

This initiative successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and industry practices, equipping
students with essential DBMS skills for their future careers.
