The Department of Mechanical Engineering, CARE College of Engineering, Tiruchirappalli, organized a one-day industrial visit to SISCO Energy Private Limited, Mathur, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, on 02.08.2025 for Final Year Mechanical Engineering Students. The visit was convened by Dr. D.R. Rajkumar, Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and coordinated by Mr. A. Antony Luki M.E., (Ph.D.), Assistant Professor. This visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial processes and problem identification in real-time mechanical engineering applications. The students started their journey from the college premises with great enthusiasm to witness and learn from live industrial operations.
The program commenced with a Safety Orientation session by Mr. Rajesh, Manager, where students were briefed on safety measures and protocols essential for industrial environments. This was followed by a Corporate Presentation by Mr. S.R. Surya, Manager, providing an overview of the company’s operations, products, and market approach. Post a short break, students were divided into three teams for the shop floor visit led by Mr. Madhudeepan (Dy. Manager), Mr. Joel (Engineer), and Mr. Ashik (Engineer).During the visit, the teams observed various manufacturing processes, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and control valve manufacturing, along with operational workflows, gaining valuable insights into lean tools such as 5S and Kaizen in action.After lunch, a session on Lean Management was conducted by Mr. Gowtham, Sr. Manager, where concepts of waste reduction and productivity improvement were discussed. This was followed by feedback and an industry overview by Mrs. Pavithra, HR/Head, who highlighted career opportunities, skill requirements, and the company’s vision for future growth.Finally, the program concluded with an interactive discussion, a group photograph with the company’s employees, and a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. A. Antony Luki M.E., (Ph.D.), Assistant Professor. Special thanks to Mrs. S.
