Trichy, 16 October 2025 – A Free Eye Screening Camp was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) of CARE College of Engineering in association with Maxi Vision Specialty Eye Hospital, Trichy. The camp was held at the Electrical Engineering Laboratory at 9.00 AM.

The initiative aimed to promote eye health awareness among students, faculty, and staff. Around 450 participants were screened, and 155 members, including students, faculty, and non-teaching staff, received personalized eye care advice and follow-up suggestions from the ophthalmologists of Maxi Vision Hospital.

The Principal Dr.S.Shanthi of CARE College of Engineering presided over the event and felicitated the medical team for their dedicated service. The camp was coordinated by the NSS Programme Officer Mr.R.Saravanan AP/EEE with the active support of NSS and YRC volunteers, who assisted in registration, guiding participants, and maintaining arrangements throughout the program.

The medical experts appreciated the enthusiasm and discipline of the participants and highlighted the importance of regular eye check-ups to prevent vision-related problems.

The Principal emphasized that such health initiatives help to create awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare among the campus community. The camp concluded with a vote of thanks, extending gratitude to Maxi Vision Specialty Eye Hospital for their support and contribution toward community well-being.
