NSS Volunteers of CARE Ignite Change: Seven Days of Transformation at Navalur Kuttapattu from 13-02-2026 to 19-02-2026
The spirit of “Not Me, But You” echoed through the streets of Navalur Kuttapattu as the National Service Scheme (NSS) concluded its high-impact, seven-day special camp. Running from February 13 to February 19, 2026 the camp saw 50 dedicated volunteers and hundreds of villagers join forces to bridge the gap between academic learning and social responsibility.
A Vision for a Healthy Village
The camp placed a massive emphasis on community wellness. On Day 2, a Free Eye Screening Camp in association with Maxi Vision Specialty Eye Hospital, Trichy, became a major highlight, serving over 350 residents. This was followed by daily Yoga sessions to promote mental and physical clarity.
The week culminated in a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on the final day, where volunteers and locals literally gave of themselves to save lives.
Beyond physical health, the camp tackled social “toxins” through a dedicated awareness session on Road Safety and building a Drug-Free Society, ensuring the youth stay on the right track.

Digital Empowerment and Civic Duty
Recognizing that a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) must be a digitally literate one, volunteers conducted multiple workshops on Cyber Security and Digital Literacy.

- The Goal: Empowering elders and women to navigate the digital world safely.
- Civic Action: A mass Voters’ Pledge was taken to ensure 100% participation in democracy, supported by rallies for the “Vote for Sure” and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiatives.

Cleanliness and Greenery: The Swachh Spirit
In line with the Swachh Bharat Mission, Day 5 saw a massive “Clean India, Green India” drive. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to deep-clean the local temple and school premises, proving that dignity of labor is the highest form of service. This was followed by the plantation of tree saplings, creating a lasting green legacy for the village children.

Social Survey & Women Empowerment
The volunteers didn’t just provide services; they listened. A comprehensive survey on education, lifestyle, and socio-economics was conducted to understand the village’s pulse. Special focus was given to:
- Save Daughter, Teach Daughter: Sensitizing families on girls’ education.
- ULLAS & Continuing Education: Identifying school dropouts to bring them back into the fold of learning.
- Small Savings: Popularizing government schemes to ensure financial security for rural households.

“This camp wasn’t just about seven days of work; it was about planting seeds of change. Seeing 350 people get their eyes checked and watching the village youth join our Fit India games shows that Navalur Kuttapattu is ready for a vibrant future,” said the Panchayat Officials during the Valedictory function.
