Industry Integrated Course on Database Management Systems

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a three-day Industry Integrated Course on Database Management Systems (DBMS) for II Year students during the Even Semester of AY 2025–2026 on 4 February 2026, 17 March 2026, and 18 March 2026. The sessions were delivered by Mr. P. Vinoth, Director – AI & Engineering, Lyaana AI Private Limited, who shared valuable industry perspectives on modern database technologies and their real-world applications.

The course covered important topics such as Relational Algebra, XML & JSON, and MongoDB, enabling students to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to database management concepts. Through interactive lectures, industry-oriented examples, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities, students developed a deeper understanding of database query processing, data representation techniques, and NoSQL database systems.

The program successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by providing practical insights into contemporary database technologies used in modern software and cloud-based applications. The sessions were highly appreciated by students and faculty members for their relevance, engagement, and practical orientation. Overall, the Industry Integrated Course enhanced students’ technical competencies and strengthened their preparedness for real-world database development and data management challenges.
