Guest Lecture – “Language and Mind Set” – S and H – 26.9.2025

A Guest lecture on “Language and Mind Set” was organised by the Department of Science and Humanities between 9.30 am and 11.00 am on 26 Sep 2025 at the Engineering Seminar Hall. The Chief Guest was Dr.A. Esther Shanthini, Assistant Professor of English, Bishop Heber College (Autonomous)

The session was truly enlightening, during which the Chief Guest introduced the concept of ‘Language and Mindset’ and emphasized the importance of having the right mindset. She inspired the students with the phrase, “Everything is possible / Nothing is impossible.” She also explained the acronym FIRE as a symbol of determination: F stands for Focus, I for Innovate, R for Reach, and E for Elevate. The Chief Guest encouraged the students to concentrate on their goals, be innovative in their efforts, strive to achieve their dreams, and elevate their thinking. She advised the students to enhance their LSRW skills by expanding their vocabulary, regularly listening to English videos, engaging in conversations with AI, reading various sources, and developing their writing abilities. Overall, the session had a profound and positive impact on the students.
