The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, CARE College of Engineering, organized an Industry Integrated Program on “JavaFX – GUI Development using Java” on 4 October 2025 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for second-year students as part of the course U24CS331 – Object Oriented Programming using Java.

The session was delivered by Mr. T. Rajavignesh, Quality Analyst at Infosys. The program introduced students to JavaFX, a modern framework for developing rich graphical user interface (GUI) applications. The speaker explained the architecture of JavaFX including Stage, Scene, and Nodes, and demonstrated event-driven programming concepts and event handling techniques.

Students were taught about JavaFX controls and layouts such as Button, Label, TextField, ComboBox, ListView, and layout managers like HBox, VBox, BorderPane, and GridPane. The session also covered CSS styling, FXML integration, and the advantages of JavaFX over AWT and Swing frameworks.

Real-world applications including enterprise dashboards and visualization tools were discussed, along with best practices such as MVC architecture, modular coding, and user-friendly interface design. The program helped students connect academic concepts with industry practices and enhanced their skills in developing interactive applications.
