Industry Partner: SRF Limited, Trichy

Faculty Coordinators: Ms. R. Vanitha, Ms. Rubitha
Project Duration: 04.07.2025 – 07.07.2025

Project Overview

The Smart Vision Based RFL Coated Fabric Defect Detection System is an industrial automation project developed in collaboration with SRF Limited, Trichy, to improve the quality inspection process of RFL (Resorcinol Formaldehyde Latex) coated fabrics. The project leverages machine vision and artificial intelligence techniques to identify surface defects with high accuracy, minimizing manual inspection and enhancing production efficiency.

Objectives

  • Develop an automated vision-based inspection system for RFL coated fabrics.
  • Detect and classify defects in real time using image processing and AI techniques.
  • Improve product quality by reducing human errors in inspection.
  • Enhance manufacturing productivity through automated quality control.

Key Features

  • Real-time fabric defect detection
  • High-resolution industrial image acquisition
  • AI-assisted defect classification
  • Fast and accurate quality inspection
  • Reduced manual intervention
  • Scalable solution for textile manufacturing industries

Outcome
