As part of the Government of India’s AICTE IDEA Lab initiative and in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the CARE AICTE IDEA Lab, CARE College of Engineering (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, organized an Open Day for School Students on 23 July 2026. The event aimed to inspire young minds by providing experiential learning opportunities in innovation, design thinking, and emerging technologies. School students and teachers explored the IDEA Lab facilities through live demonstrations of advanced equipment, including 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CNC Machining, Robotics, IoT, and Embedded Systems, while interacting with faculty members and student innovators. Hands-on activities, project exhibitions, and career guidance sessions enabled participants to understand the engineering design process from concept to prototype. The programme successfully fostered creativity, scientific thinking, and problem-solving skills among the participants while promoting awareness of engineering, research, and innovation, thereby contributing to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
