Industrial Visit to All India Radio, Kodaikanal – Enhancing Practical Exposure in Broadcasting Technology for II Year CSE Students

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an Industrial Visit to All India Radio (AIR), Kodaikanal FM 100.5 MHz for the II Year CSE students as part of its experiential learning and industry exposure initiatives.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to understand the working principles of radio broadcasting, studio operations, audio recording, signal transmission, and communication technologies used in a professional broadcasting environment. The officials of AIR explained the complete process of program production, editing, transmission control, and FM broadcasting, enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with real-time applications.

During the session, students interacted with technical experts and gained insights into broadcasting equipment, sound engineering techniques, transmission systems, and media communication workflows. The visit also created awareness about the role of broadcasting technology in information dissemination, public communication, and digital media services.

Overall, the industrial visit was an informative and enriching experience that strengthened students’ understanding of real-world broadcasting and communication technologies.
