On 27 June 2026, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, CARE College of Engineering, encouraged student participation in the 12th Kaizen Mela – 2026, organized by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Madurai Chapter, at Hotel Amika, Madurai. Dr. D. R. Rajkumar, Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, was invited by QCFI, Madurai Chapter, to serve as a Judge for the event in recognition of his expertise in quality improvement and engineering practices. As part of the department’s industry-oriented learning initiatives, Mr. S. Gobinath, Mr. G. B. Prakash, IV Year Mechanical Engineering, and Mr. R. Saktheevel, Mechanical Engineering Intern, participated in the Kaizen Mela and gained valuable exposure to Kaizen, continuous improvement, quality management, Lean practices, and systematic problem-solving methodologies. Dr. D. R. Rajkumar was honored with a ceremonial shawl in appreciation of his valuable contribution as a judge. The event provided students with an opportunity to interact with industry professionals, observe practical industrial case studies, understand the application of quality improvement techniques, and develop an interest in implementing Kaizen principles in academic and industrial projects, while also strengthening the Department of Mechanical Engineering’s association with QCFI, Madurai Chapter.
