CARE AICTE IDEA Lab, CARE College of Engineering, Tiruchirappalli, successfully organized a three-day Ideation Workshop on PCB Mate from 3 to 5 August 2026 at the AICTE IDEA Lab. Conducted with the theme “Design • Innovate • Realize,” the workshop was aimed at providing participants with practical exposure to the complete PCB design and development process.
The workshop offered hands-on training in PCB design, schematic capture, component placement, PCB layout, routing, and design rule validation. Through practical sessions, participants learned how to translate circuit concepts and ideas into structured PCB designs and develop them towards functional electronic prototypes using modern design tools.
The sessions emphasized the development of industry-ready hardware design skills, with a focus on innovation, creativity, accuracy, and problem-solving. Participants were encouraged to experiment with their ideas, identify suitable design approaches, and work collaboratively to address practical design challenges. The workshop also provided an opportunity to understand the various stages involved in taking an electronic circuit from the initial concept to a realizable PCB prototype.
Outcome of the Workshop
The workshop successfully enhanced participants’ practical knowledge and confidence in PCB design and hardware development. Participants gained hands-on experience in the key stages of PCB development, from schematic creation and component placement to layout, routing, and design validation.
The programme enabled participants to convert circuit ideas into practical PCB designs, strengthening their ability to apply theoretical electronics concepts to real-world hardware development. It also fostered innovation, creativity, collaborative learning, and systematic problem-solving, while encouraging participants to explore and develop their own electronic prototypes.
Overall, the workshop served as a valuable platform for developing practical and industry-relevant PCB design skills, empowering participants to move from idea to design and from design to prototype in line with the theme “Design • Innovate • Realize.”
