The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, is proud to announce that it has been officially selected as an ISRO START 2026 Nodal Center this year for the prestigious Space Science and Technology Awareness Training (START 2026) programme. Organized by ISRO in association with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), START 2026 is the fourth edition of this introductory-level online awareness programme in space science and technology, specially designed for postgraduate students and preferably final-year undergraduate students of science and technology. This year’s theme, “Observation from Space,” highlights the scientific principles, technological developments, and societal applications of space-based observation, inspiring students to explore how satellites and remote sensing contribute to communication, environmental monitoring, disaster management, and national development. As a selected nodal center, our department is proud to contribute to ISRO’s mission of bridging the gap between the classroom and the cosmos by fostering scientific curiosity, innovation, and awareness of emerging opportunities in space science and technology.
