The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), CARE College of Engineering, organized an Alumni Talk on 7 September 2026 for the IV Year ECE students, featuring Ms. Christina Shiny, an alumna of CARE College of Engineering from the 2011–2015 ECE batch.
Ms. Christina Shiny is currently serving as Team Lead at Flex, Chennai. She completed her Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from CARE College of Engineering (2011–2015) and later pursued an MBA in Human Resources Management and Services from Alagappa University, Karaikudi (2015–2017). She has built a diverse professional career with experience in project coordination, supplier development, supplier quality, and project management, progressing to her present leadership role.
During the Alumni Talk, Ms. Christina shared valuable insights from her academic journey and professional experience, providing students with a practical understanding of the transition from engineering education to the corporate workplace. She highlighted the importance of developing technical knowledge, communication skills, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and continuous learning to meet evolving industry expectations.
The session also focused on career preparation and professional growth, encouraging students to identify their interests and strengths, develop relevant skills, and approach career opportunities with confidence. Her personal journey from a CARE ECE student to a leadership position in the industry provided students with a relatable perspective on the importance of consistent learning, professional development, and adaptability throughout a career.
Outcome of the Alumni Talk
The Alumni Talk enhanced students’ awareness of industry expectations, career pathways, and professional development opportunities. Students gained practical insights into the skills required for entering and progressing in the corporate sector and understood the importance of combining technical competence with communication, teamwork, and professional skills.
The interaction also encouraged students to plan their careers proactively, strengthen their employability skills, and prepare themselves for the transition from campus to the workplace. The sharing of real-world experiences by an alumna provided students with valuable career perspectives and motivation for their professional journey.
The programme further strengthened the alumni–student connect, creating a platform for knowledge sharing, career guidance, and meaningful interaction between successful alumni and current students. The Department of ECE expressed its sincere appreciation to Ms. Christina Shiny for sharing her experiences and valuable guidance with the students.
