Short Term Training Program on Recent Trends in Antenna and Microwave Technology

Department of Electronics & Communication engineering of CARE College of Engineering organized four days short term training program on “Recent Trends in Antenna and Microwave Technology” during June 06, 2021 to June 10,2021 in online mode using Google meet. The seminar focused on the recent research issues and challenges in 5/6G antenna design and beyond technologies. The programme started  on June 09, 2021 by 9 am with the welcome address by Mrs.R.Vanitha. The dignitaries during the session were Dr.D. Sriram Kumar, Professor, NIT, Trichirappalli who delivered the key note address for inauguration and delivered an enlightening lecture on smart antennas for 5G & beyond applications, Dr.S.Shanthi, Principal CARE College of Engg & Dr.A.Pasumpon Pandiyan , Dean R&D CARE College of Engineering who felicitated the function by giving the opening remarks and the applications in the real world.

The second session was handled by Dr.J.Jeyarani on “Optical Antennas” and explained the challenges and research issues in it.

The afternoon session was handled by Dr. Gunasekaran Thangavel, Program Director, University of Technology & Applied Science, Muscat on “ 5 G & UWB Antennas” . he elaborated the current literature and the works carried on with simulation results.

Second day on June 8th, FN session was on “2.4 GHz ISM band Bluetooth receiver Design” by Mr.V.Sanjay Kumar, MS (Arizona university) was a wonderful one appreciated by many participants.

The same day AN session was on “Metameterial based MIMO  antenna for 5G application” delivered with so many literature and simulated results by Dr.Immaculate Roseline , Associate prof, Ramaiah Institute of Tech, Bangalore.

The third day June 9, FN session was by Metameterial antennas for wireless applications by Dr.rajesh Kumar, Associate professor, VIT, vellore. He explained very well about the metameterial from the basics to the antenna design. The AN session was the demonstration of CST tool for antenna design by Mrs.Geetha , Associate Prof, PRIST University.

The fourth day starts with the presentation of  Dr.G.Gandhimathi, Professor, TEC , Trichy with detailed explanation of  Applications of  wireless technologies 5G& beyond which provides many useful insights into the application area.

The afternoon session was the Hands on session in designing metametrial antennas using CST tool by Mr.Jayanandhan, CEO, teslaminds.

We received 82 registrations within the four days of our FDP brochure launched in websites and social media. We restricted the participants so as to accommodate our students and faculty in google meet. We are conducting the program in two links in parallel.

27 doctorates, 28 PhD scholars and others are students are attending this program and a total of 127 participants are getting enriched. They are from Andhra, Telungana, UP, Jarkand,  Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.

The efforts of all the participants from all over india who made this event a grand success is appreciated. The people behind the scene are Mrs.R.vanitha, Mrs. R.Deepalakshmi, & Mrs. M.Shivashankari who worked hard to bring this to reality.

Student supporters are Mr.Surya, Ms. Bhakiya, Ms. Lakshmipriya , Ms. Shifana  and Ms. RajaRajeswari who are helping the organizing committee in a great manner.

Special mention to Dr.Ragavan, who supported the event and delivered a keynote in valediction and to Dr.D.Sriram kumar who attended all the sessions to support the team.
