The CARE Central Library organized a Library Induction Programme titled “Discover – Explore – Learn: Library Induction for Freshers” for the newly admitted students of the academic year 2026–2027. The programme was conducted on different dates to accommodate students from various departments and sections.
The programme schedule was as follows:
- 31 August 2026 – D Section, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- 2 September 2026 – C Section, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- 3 September 2026 – A & B Sections, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering
- 7 September 2026 – H Section, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
- 8 September 2026 – E & F Sections, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AD)
- 9 September 2026 – G Section, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
The induction sessions were conducted at various venues, including the Arts Seminar Hall, Engineering Seminar Hall, and Fulcrum Hall, depending on the department and section. Approximately 468 students participated in the programme across all sessions. The programme was led by Dr. L. Jamuna Rani, Librarian, CARE College of Engineering, who served as the Resource Person and provided valuable insights into the effective utilization of library resources, services, facilities, and digital resources.
The Library Induction Programme was organized with the following key objectives:
- To familiarize students with the library layout, different sections, facilities, and study areas.
- To introduce students to the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and the wide range of digital and electronic resources available through the library.
- To provide an understanding of library rules, regulations, borrowing and returning procedures, lending periods, renewal facilities, and other relevant policies.
- To develop students’ information literacy, research competencies, and effective information-searching skills.
- To create awareness of the various library services and facilities available to support teaching, learning, and research activities.
- To encourage students to make effective and regular use of print, electronic, and digital resources for their academic requirements.
- To encourage students to interact with library professionals and seek guidance and assistance whenever required for accessing information and library resources.
The programme was designed to help fresher’s confidently access and utilize the wide range of resources and services offered by the CARE Central Library, thereby supporting their academic learning, information-seeking skills, and research activities.
