The Industrial visit at “Golden Rock Railway Workshop” was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 29th February 2024. Totally 30 students out of 31 from third year mechanical and two faculty members Dr. D.R.Rajkumar, HoD/ Mech, Mr.A.Antony Luki AP/Mech were actively participating in this visit. The visit was formally started with a welcome note and brief introduction by the Workshop Training Institute Instructor Mr. Antony Bright on 29th February 2024 around 10.30 AM. He took all the students to various departments for the entire visit.
He explains different kinds of Raw materials used for his works and how they are processed inside the company. The Milling machine, Radial drilling machine, Lathe machines, CNC based Modern Kikens machine Cutting, Laser Cutting, Oil Furnaces, Spring cleaning Pening Machine, Non-destructive testing processes, Bogie Assembly, POH(Periodic Overhauling) Repair and Maintenance are explained with simple demonstrations by shop workers. In this Industrial visit, student and faculty members understood the process of Rail Locomotive Repair & Maintenance, Coach Assembly. On the whole, it was a wonderful experience, our students and faculties benefited through this visit.
